Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a visitor enters a name or case number into a search feature, the query is sent to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies any result. We do not retain or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent to us are retained so that we can respond. They remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information when a page is requested, including:
- The date and time of each page request
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Your device type and operating system
- Your browser type and version
- The IP address associated with the device
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, which are small files placed on a device, to understand aggregate site use such as traffic patterns and exits. Analytics services assist with that measurement. You may disable cookies in your browser, although doing so can affect how some site functions operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing and resolving site-performance problems
- Delivering search requests to the applicable partner service
- Maintaining a responsive, available website
- Assessing which pages visitors use and find helpful
- Displaying advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests
No Court-Record Data on File
We do not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. This site provides general information about where George County records are maintained and how to approach the appropriate clerk, court, or registered PAMEC/MEC channel. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
The Mississippi Public Records Act, including Mississippi Code Sections 25-61-5, 25-61-7, 25-61-11, and 25-61-13, addresses access to public records. Court and electronic-docket access, however, is also governed by court rules and MEC policy, including restrictions on sealed, juvenile, and other protected material.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search functions on this website are provided by independent companies. Information entered there is handled under the provider's own privacy policy and retention practices, which we do not control. Review that provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Our pages link to clerk offices, court resources, PAMEC/MEC access, legal-aid organizations, and third-party tools. Once you follow an external link, the policies of that destination control the visit and any personal information you choose to provide.
Advertising partners may conduct their own cross-site activity tracking in order to provide targeted advertising. That activity occurs within their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data can be received by:
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
- Advertising networks that serve advertisements on our pages
- Analytics providers used to measure performance and traffic
- Search partners that process a query you submit through their tools
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards intended to protect the information we collect. Internet systems cannot be made entirely risk-free, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that a minor's personal information has been submitted, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection laws that apply where you live may provide additional rights concerning your information. Court records are a separate subject: the Mississippi Public Records Act Sections 25-61-5, 25-61-7, 25-61-11, and 25-61-13 does not override judicial confidentiality or the court rules and MEC policy that govern electronic court access. At a minimum, you may:
- Opt out of certain data-processing activities
- Request deletion of data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Request a copy of information we maintain about you
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy. Any revised version will appear on this page with an updated effective date, so visitors can review the current practices.
Effective date: August 28, 2026
